eco villageWhen we moved from Suburbia into the country, we swapped cars for cows but what we didn’t take into account was that there are  still people. And people are all the same, even in an eco-village.

We were idealistic in believing the commonality of love of all natural and organic would translate as being everyone embracing love and harmony. We were wrong. We missed out the common denominator of city life and rural existence in that all people have their opinions, agendas, and general way of being which has been formed from their subconscious programming they received as innocent children from multiple sources. No need to go there, you know how it works. It creates baggage we all carry and some of us try to get rid of, but some don’t.

Wherever we live we are a miss- mash of all sorts. This sure dos does not make life easy or happy co-existence often. This is no different amongst the organic vegetables lovingly grown, while at war with your neighbour. Except your neighbour is also a community and that is an awful lot of people – more than an annoying family over the fence.

We are a mixed bunch in the eco-village, and everyone wants to be right. Isn’t that a thing about us human beings? The ego often over rules the heart. And all we are looking for is the idealistic existence we have created in our imagination. Oh, the energy of it all.

Besides being naive we admit we are almost complete novices. Growing a few veggies in tubs isn’t the same as acres of self-sufficiency. Well, we have watched a bit on Youtube about growing and composting and learned that even making pony-poo useable is not so straight forward. Everybody here interprets permaculture in different ways with and getting advice like experiencing Youtube live, but with the energetic exchange. Potential disagreement are a looming threat.

Sadly, differing opinions do not stop there sometimes. Arguments and posturing can occur over what would seem insignificant things – in the great scheme of it all, then blow up into a big stand-off. It is easy to bounce off the walls energetically, even in an eco-village!

Who needs anything that disturbs your equilibrium? I have reached a time in life when all I really want is to get on with living that has frequent moments of just sitting looking at nothing except the beauty of creation with a big bubble of gratitude in my heart.

You know that I am going to say it – “protection” from other people’s energy. We need a harmonious field that staves of the intense negative, draining energy that can bombard us from others. Ever had know the interactions that you think you coped with but left you feeling drained and often out sorts. As David often says, “They have walked away after dumping their bad-hair day on you”.

It doesn’t matter where you live, whether you are mostly anonymous in a city amongst strangers, or uptight and cozy (or even nosey) in an eco-village deep in the country there is always people.  And their energy isn’t always in sync with yours. Being around energy that makes you uneasy is draining. It not only disturbs your equilibrium and energy levels on a physical level it is not good for the soul.

I prefer cows mooing to traffic noise. I am settling into a more communal way of living – but dear reader like many of you I’m energy sensitive and find peoples energy can be challenging. So, my necessary go -to for protecting myself is still my  ki -bal, Natti and ever faithful Nu-Me Pendant. And for community gatherings sometimes I wear them all at once! Just in case

As always with love, Margie.
