What are the chakrasWhat are the Chakras?

Chakras are moving from the category of Eastern mystique (and viewed as a bit whacky by Westerners) to a new understanding that there is a scientific element to them, as Quantum Physics teaches us. We are in fact composed of vibrating energy, and not lumps of flesh, blood and bones as we were taught in school by old, outdated Newtonian science.

What the ancients knew in the East is now being accepted in the West — but we have some catching up to do.

1) A Little Bit of Background

The human chakra system is founded in ancient Eastern religions and spiritual traditions, particularly within Hinduism, Buddhism, and yoga philosophy.

The word “chakra” comes from Sanskrit, meaning “wheel” or “disk,” referring to the spinning vortexes of energy that exist along the spine. These energy centres govern physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and when functioning optimally they maintain a harmonious flow of life force energy, known as zero point energy, prana, chi, or qi.

When the chakras become blocked or out of balance this causes a wide range of health issues, emotional disturbances, and spiritual disconnection.

Balanced chakras are essential for complete health, wellbeing, and homeostasis.

2) What Are the Seven Main Chakras?

There are seven primary chakras, each associated with a specific location, colour, element, and set of functions. They are:

    1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) — Located at the base of the spine. Colour: Red. Element: Earth. Governs survival, security, and basic trust.
    1. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) — Located below the navel. Colour: Orange. Element: Water. Controls creativity, sexuality, and emotional balance.
    1. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) — Located in the upper abdomen. Colour: Yellow. Element: Fire. Influences personal power, self-esteem, and willpower.
    1. Heart Chakra (Anahata) — Located at the centre of the chest. Colour: Green. Element: Air. Governs love, compassion, and relationships.
    1. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) — Located at the throat. Colour: Blue. Element: Ether/Space. Controls communication, self-expression, and truth.
    1. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) — Located between the eyebrows. Colour: Indigo. Element: Light. Governs intuition, insight, and perception.
    1. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) — Located at the top of the head. Colour: Violet or White. Element: Cosmic energy. Connects to spiritual awareness and enlightenment.

3) How Do the Chakras Work?

In a healthy, balanced state, each chakra spins at an optimal frequency, drawing in and distributing life energy throughout the body. The energy flows upward from the root to the crown, creating a continuous circuit that nourishes every organ, gland, and emotional centre. This system operates like a bioenergetic highway: when all chakras are open and aligned, a person experiences vitality, emotional stability, mental clarity, and a deep sense of purpose.

The chakras also interact with the physical body through the endocrine glands and nervous system.

For example, the root chakra is linked to the adrenal glands, while the throat chakra connects to the thyroid. When energy flows freely, these glands function optimally, supporting overall health. Likewise, emotional states are regulated: a balanced heart chakra fosters unconditional love, while a balanced solar plexus chakra promotes healthy self-confidence.

4) What Happens When Chakras Become Blocked or Imbalanced?

Chakra blockages or imbalances occur when energy cannot flow freely through a particular centre. This can result from trauma, stress, negative thought patterns, unresolved emotional issues, and lifestyle factors including toxins (including EMF), poor diet, and lack of exercise.

When a chakra is blocked, it may spin too slowly (underactive) or too rapidly (overactive), leading to specific symptoms.

1st Root Chakra Blockage

    • Underactive: Fear, insecurity, financial anxiety, lower back pain, and feeling ungrounded.
    • Overactive: Greed, aggression, hoarding, and obsessive need for safety.

2nd Sacral Chakra Blockage

    • Underactive: Low libido, creative blocks, emotional numbness, and bladder issues.
    • Overactive: Emotional volatility, co-dependency, sexual addiction, and manipulative behaviour.

3rd Solar Plexus Chakra Blockage

    • Underactive: Low self-esteem, indecisiveness, fatigue, and digestive problems.
    • Overactive: Arrogance, control issues, anger, and perfectionism.

4th Heart Chakra Blockage

    • Underactive: Inability to give or receive love, loneliness, and respiratory issues.
    • Overactive: Smothering love, jealousy, and martyrdom.

5th Throat Chakra Blockage

    • Underactive: Difficulty speaking up, shyness, sore throat, and neck tension.
    • Overactive: Gossip, talking excessively, and inability to listen.

6th Third Eye Chakra Blockage

    • Underactive: Lack of intuition, confusion, headaches, and rigid thinking.
    • Overactive: Hallucinations, paranoia, and obsessive daydreaming.

7th Crown Chakra Blockage

    • Underactive: Spiritual disconnection, materialism, and chronic apathy.
    • Overactive: Spiritual addiction, detachment from reality, and inability to function in daily life.

5) Balancing the Chakras

How can you restore chakra balance?

There are many ways to balance the chakras:

    • Meditation
    • Yoga (especially poses targeting specific chakras)
    • Breathwork (pranayama)
    • Sound healing (using mantras or singing bowls)
    • Crystals (using specific crystals that align with the chakra)
    • Energy healing (like Reiki)
    • Dietary change
    • Spending time in nature
    • Journaling
    • Affirmations — for example, visualizing a red light at the base of the spine while affirming “I am safe” can ground the root chakra, while chanting “HAM” for the throat chakra can open communication channels.

6) Balancing the Chakras With Vibration — The Quantum Way

As energetic beings we are complex, and this is evident when it comes to balancing the chakras. It is not easy, nor is there an instant fix. Many of us do not have the time, or energy, to give it the constant attention it needs.

But there can be no half-hearted job because in balancing the chakras it has to be done consistently and thoroughly. Our chakras are affected by every thought, emotion, interaction, and event we have. Added to that, some of these — especially traumas — have been buried and not dealt with, so have stopped our chakra(s) spinning optimally or at all.

But chakra balancing does not have to be daunting, time consuming, or so overwhelming that it never happens. Using frequencies to target blockages is simple and easy; it gets to the very core of the blockage or imbalance. Vibration tackles it at the very root.

The Solfeggio healing frequencies are aligned with the chakras, and when played in sequence they move from the 1st root chakra up to the 7th crown chakra, unblocking and balancing each chakra as the frequencies change.

The QSB with inbuilt Solfeggio frequencies, that run automatically, is a vibrational healing device that makes chakra balancing easy and possible even when sleeping. It is worth checking it out.

Vibrational healing is gaining momentum because of its astounding success rate. This includes chakra balancing, which is a fundamental part of any and all healing. After all, we are energetic beings, and it stands to reason that if our energy is not flowing freely, then we are not operating fully.
