Snoring- does it keep you awake?
Is there any one out there that has found a cure for snoring? If there is please, please tell us all before the divorce rate goes even higher.
Apparently 45% of “normal” adults snore, and 25% of those are habitual snorers. That is a lot of sleepless nights. Even our insomnia cure can’t cope with snoring! It gets worse as you get older or are male and overweight.
In excess of 300 devices have been registered in the U.S. alone as a cure for snoring! And that doesn’t include sewing a sock on the back of a pyjama jacket which holds a tennis ball so the snorer can’t sleep on their back. As all “sleeping” partners of snorers, that lies awake wanting to commit murder, snoring is worse when the person is sleeping on their back. The desperation of dragging a blanket onto the sofa is not included either. This is not considered a cure – it is merely a last resort when the thumping to turn over fails.
Exactly what causes snoring?
Snoring is an Obstruction of free flowing air through the passages at the back of the mouth and nose. This area is the collapsible part of the airway where the tongue and upper throat meet the soft palate and uvula. Snoring happens when these structures strike each other and vibrate.
Can snoring be a health problem?
Yes because it disturbs sleep patterns (and not only for the snorer) causing deprivation of appropriate rest which in tern lowers the bodies defensive mechanisms. As with insomnia the sufferer (and their partner) live their life below par with the increased possibility of getting sick.
Is there a cure for snoring?
I don’t know any one who has found a successful cure including surgery which obviously is the last drastic resort for chronic sufferers. There must be some one who has found a cure? We sufferers, both the one who is asleep and the ones that lie awake listening would love to hear about it – PLEASE.
All other insomnia is cured pretty well by our technology – have a look.
